Discover Therapy for a Better Life

Therapy is a light in the storm, a healing process and an experience of self discovery

LET'S START OUR JOURNEY TOGETHER
Why are we the way we are?

Are we really capable of change?

These questions have puzzled me throughout my life. There are times in life when we feel like we are swimming against the tide. We need a lifeline to guide us through the waves. I have learned that telling of our story to someone who really cares and fully listens, helps in healing. I see change as possible, and therapy as a guiding light in the storm.

I value the complexity and uniqueness of people and am inspired by the personal struggles and triumphs of my clients. Many clients come to therapy with distressing symptoms such as unrelenting sadness and grief or overwhelming anxiety and panic attacks. Together, we discover the meaning behind these symptoms as well as what changes are possible to improve their lives. I believe that by understanding why we are the way we are, we can make informed decisions that will improve our lives.

Yes, life-altering change is possible.

You’ve had enough. You can’t seem to alter those life-inhibiting behaviors on your own. You fall back on the old, familiar patterns and reactions. If only there was a formula, a flow chart, a step-by-step plan. You’ve reached a critical level, ready to do anything; ready to do whatever it takes. Your journey of change is possible with a supportive guide. You will develop a trusting relationship with an experienced, compassionate therapist.

I am here to support you on your journey by applying the latest neuroscience brain research, proven to be key in the process of replacing old thought and behavior patterns. Are you ready to do the work? A supportive, collaborative process involving creativity and science awaits you.

"Paige was the turning point in my daughter’s wellness. She didn’t just think about medicine as the answer. She gave my daughter tools to manage her anxiety and depression that are still effective today."

My Path to Becoming a Psychotherapist

Life is a journey. We stray, we meander, seemingly without direction. Yet, we are often headed to where we are meant to be. That is true for me.

As Maya Angelo said, “There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story.” I struggled silently with social anxiety as a child and it went completely unnoticed by my family. My parents divorced when I was 8. My mother and stepfather moved our family several times until we landed in Chicago where again we changed locations several times. By the time I finished high school, I had changed schools 6 times. I never gave my parents reason to worry and my anxiety remained unknown. I hid my feelings well.

I was a model student and graduated from a notable university with a BA in business finance. At the age of 22, I lived in Chicago and held a high stress job. One night I ended up in the ER, certain I was having a heart attack. I learned later that the episode was a panic attack.

Soon, I married and had two children. They were growing up, and I began looking at a change of careers. I was drawn to understanding anxiety and helping others with the same condition. I began a university program in psychology. I have now practiced psychotherapy for 20 years. My practice is filled with success stories, but I never cease to learn and explore new research. I have treated hundreds of people with anxiety disorders, panic, agoraphobia, health anxiety and OCD.

I can now trace that winding path that has led me to do what gives my life purpose. I am ready to help you on your journey as well. All you must do is be willing to do the work. I will guide you and support you along the way.

Thank you for trusting me.

Love, Paige

TESTIMONIALS

Kind Words From Past Clients

"One of the best decisions I ever made"

"Paige has been my therapist for nearly 2 years. I selected Paige because of her experience with anxiety patients, and this has been one of the best decisions I have ever made. I find our therapy sessions very relaxed and conversational, instead of me talking for one hour and receiving short responses of acknowledgment. Paige has provided me with wonderful direction and advice to help manage my anxiety and deal with my perfectionism, as well as much needed gentle perspective regarding the true root cause of my issues. I am so thankful to be one of Paige’s clients."

R. K., Shelby Township

Her professionalism is always combined with a loving heart and a caring concern for my well being. I have left sessions with Paige feeling my issues have been listened to, understood and addressed. I appreciate you so very much Paige. Thank you for being in my corner."

"I began working with Paige after the death of my father. Working through my grief and loss and having to reframe the challenges that I faced were extremely difficult. Paige was instrumental in helping me work through many changes with my family and my work. I was able to turn my loss into a “new normal” which helped me to regain my confidence in myself. Thank you, Paige."

You find this thought so dark and disturbing that you would never share it with another person, and even feel guilty for thinking it. Now imagine that thought continues to pop in your mind every day, no matter how hard you try to push that thought out of your mind, it keeps coming back.
